Dear Parents,
As we begin our final quarter of this school year, it is important that we remember to continue to push our students to continue learning as the days grow longer and the weather warms up. I think there was a great response to the Math-a-thon as many students worked to brush up their Math skills while helping to raise money for St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. Remind your students also to keep up with their reading logs as we chart and track our reading totals as a school for the Raise a Reader Program. Finally, many of you received information about summer bridge workbooks that your child can complete over the summer to make sure they keep up on all the things they learned through this school year.
Again, please do not wait to turn in your registration paperwork and the first half of your registration payment. We have started accepting new families for next year and have already brought in several new students. Space is limited in certain grades so if you want to guarantee a place for your child for next year, it is essential that you turn everything in now. Also, if you are planning on applying for financial aid, the applications for CEF are now available in the office as well as the applications for in house aid. Remember, you must file for CEF in order to be eligible for in house aid and everything is due now so that we have time to review the applications before making decisions.
I want to again encourage everyone who is interested to please think about running for a position on the Home and School Committee, Dad’s Club, or School Advisory Council for next year. This is a great way to get involved in the community and to give back to and lead the St. Augustine family in special way. If you are not interested in running, but know someone who would do a good job, please pass their name on to the school office to make sure that we have strong leaders to continue on our work this upcoming year.
Make sure you pay attention to the upcoming calendar and be sure to come by the cafeteria on April 13th for our Home and School Meeting. As an added treat, you will be able to see the new tables that were generously donated by American Airlines and now make our cafeteria look amazing. Thank you to Brian Gordon, Javier Gomez, and Antonio Cabrera for their help in organizing and moving these tables for us!

Queridas Familias,
Es importante recordar que tenemos que seguir alentado a nuestros estudiantes para que continúen su aprendizaje mientras que los días de primavera se alargan y el fin del año escolar se aproxima.
Pienso que tuvimos gran participación de parte de nuestros estudiantes ya que muchos afilaron sus habilidades en las matemáticas en recaudar fondos para el hospital de San Judas Tadeo, uno de los centros de investigación de cáncer pediátrico más importantes en nuestro país. También, recuérdenles a sus niños que mantengan al corriente su archivo con todos los minutos que se pasan leyendo. Por último, muchos ya han recibido información de libretos que pueden ayudarle a sus niños no olvidarse de todo lo que han aprendido durante el año escolar en el verano.
Por favor no esperen en matricular a sus niños y entregar la primera mitad de su pago. Hemos empezado a aceptar a nuevas familias para el año próximo y ya hemos entrevistado a varios estudiantes nuevos. Espacio es limitado en ciertos grados y si quiere garantizar un lugar para su niño el año próximo, es esencial que entregue todo papeleo ahora. También, si planea solicitar ayuda financiera, las aplicaciones para el CEF están ahora disponibles en la oficina así como las aplicaciones para la ayuda por medio de la escuela. Recuerde, debe aplicar primero al CEF previamente al aplicar para ayuda financiera por medio de la escuela y todo se debe entregar ahora para que tendremos el tiempo de revisar las aplicaciones.
Quiero animar a cualquier persona que este interesada en servir a la comunidad de San Agustín en una posición de liderazgo el próximo año que aplique ahora para ser parte del Comité de Casa y escuela, del Club de padres, o del Concilio de la escuela. Esto es una manera admirable de servir a la comunidad y de ayudar a dirigir a nuestra comunidad en una capacidad muy especial. Si usted no está interesado pero conoce alguien que sería un buen candidato, por favor pase su nombre a la oficina para asegurarnos de que tendremos líderes fuertes para continuar nuestro trabajo el año próximo.
Ponga atención al calendario y venga a la reunión el 13 de abril a las 7:00 pm en la cafetería. Con mucho gusto verá las mesas nuevas que fueron donadas por American Airlines. ¡Gracias a Brian Gordon, a Javier Gómez y a Antonio Cabrera por su ayuda en organizar y mover estas mesas!
